Help Soccer Players in Need- Dec 5th

We need your help.

We are asking for donations of any previously used uniforms to help those regions having tough times in financing their program.  Our region is going to assist those players throughout our country and internationally by donating uniforms from previous seasons to the nationally sponsored AYSO” Suit Up” program.

On Dec 5th we will provide drop boxes for previously used uniforms, socks, shin guards, and cleats which will be sent to our national site and then distributed to the regions which struggle to find the dollars to Suit Up their teams.  What is not used within the U.S AYSO regions, will be sent to international locations. Please make sure all donations are usable and clean. (laundered)

So take a little time to clean out your soccer closet, and make a difference by “Suiting Up” a player in need. (Click here for national info)

What a great community we live in!

This year’s canned food drive raised a record number of nonperishable items. We filled over 10 cartons to the brim, which doubled our intake from last year. As a region, we totaled 1221 items donated to St. Mary's Food Bank.

This year’s winning team for being the highest contributor to the St. Mary's Canned Food  Drive, and winner of a pizza party is...

The GOLDEN TIGERS!!!,

U8 Boys under coach Daryl James.

The pizza party will be at BARRO'S PIZZA on Alma School Rd. BARRO's has donated $50 towards their party to reward the kids for their outstanding contribution.  Please think of BARRO's next time your out for pizza as they are a business that contributes to AYSO 503.

Additionally recognition goes to two U10 boys’ players from
The BLUE COUGARS, Mike Adams’ U10 B team, gathered 125 cans by canvassing their neighborhood and bringing the items to the field and will receive recognition by receiving gift cards to Cold Stone Creamery.

Our regional director, will present to the winners at their game on Saturday.

Thank you, AYSO coaches, team parents, and most of all, the families,  for your generous efforts this year!

Why AYSO?  Please take a few minutes to watch the attached video insert to understand why our organization has succeeded in developing our youth. AYSO teaches not only how to play soccer but also works to enrich children’s lives by using soccer as our tool.  As emphasized in our KID”S ZONE policy, AYSO is built on ensuring our kids have a fun, fair, and safe environment while developing both physical and social skills.  This video says it all.

AYSO is a 100% volunteer organization. Without Coaches, Referees, Board members, and all the other types of volunteers, our organization could not exist.  Becoming involved in your child’s activities is a rewarding experience that will have lasting memories of a lifetime. We offer comprehensive training for beginning coaches and referees to assist in making your involvement an easy transition. We provide you with the basic knowledge to develop the children’s soccer skills and have knowledgeable instructors to teach you about the laws of the game. We’re always looking for new volunteers. We know keeping a strong base of volunteers directly relates to the quality of our program. That’s why we need you! See the calendar about classes offered and the times offered. Ask you coach how you can become more involved.

We need to ensure that all volunteers fills out a new volunteer form and goes through the Safe Haven class (for your protection) and that all Volunteers are aware of the law changes in effect. Those returning volunteers do not need to take Safe Haven again; however we do need a fresh signature, so if you have not signed this year’s volunteer form, please get with a board member to assist in that update.  For new referees, please check for the Referee Clinics, and for the returning referees check for the Returning Referee Class in our calendar.

We also would like to welcome any unique expertise that you as a parent may have. There are many other ways to volunteer with AYSO 503 other than as a Coach or Referee. Examples include those who have experience with:

• Advertising
• Graphics Design
• Web Design
• Communications  • Clerical
• Physical Fitness
• Nutrition
• Photography  • Auctions
• Food Services
• Retail
• And Many More
